POP WITH A JAZZY CURVE

NaBloPomo is here!

November 1, 2014 By Ms. Chicksinger 2 Comments

NaBloPomo is here! Crunch time! I always love the beginnings of things, the beginning of the month, the beginning of a new diet (been there, done that a few too many times), the beginning of a new show, the beginning of learning new songs…

So, why am I doing this thing and what the hell is NaBloPomo??? Well, first of all, NaBloPoMo stands for “National Blog Posting Month.” The goal of NaBloPoMo is for participants to write a post a day for an entire month. It actually emerged from the well known NaNoWriMo which is “National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.”

Bloggers being who they are, were influenced by such a lofty and worthy goal and made their own version of it! I am a member of the BlogHer Network and that is how I first learned of this. I did my first one last year and this year I have some new ideas and thoughts about how best to accomplish this awesome goal!

Not only that, I realized that one reason I wasn’t writing as frequently as I should was because I was trying to hard! I wanted to write life-changing, big moment posts!! I wanted (and quite frankly, still want) to bring change to the world, one little chicksinger at a time. BUT! What I was missing was my heart and soul. I began to see as I read and learned from the ladies of blogland that I admire is they were telling the TRUTH, with a capital TRUTH!!! So brave and so courageous. Can I really do that? I don’t like confrontation and if I were to write something controversial I might make someone mad…After all, I am a smiley-poo type of chick. OF COURSE, I have down days like everyone, but really and truly I am happy and in a good mood most of the time. If I were to say my true feelings about something and people didn’t like it, would I be crushed? So, I chose to not write that stuff.

But, it’s not helping anyone if no one reads what I’m writing about and singing about, does it? Crunch time again!! I have to come to terms with the thought that there will be people who don’t like me and my voice and my thoughts…. and that is ok. And, they might comment about that…gulp.

So here we are back to NaBloPomo and it’s theme this year…CRUNCH. The name of my blog is Viewpoints of A Chicksinger. It’s TIME to write about those viewpoints and engage with you. Sing for you. Share with you. My tag line is “my pursuit of love, happiness and music”…let’s find it together! Crunch time!

See you tomorrow, dear friends…hang on! I’m hoping for an E ticket kind of ride! 🙂

Hey there, I found you via the NaBloPoMo blogroll.

I’m just going to say I always prefer people to be honest. One thing I cannot stand though – and I recently unsubscribed from a blog because someone did it – is people who make judgments about things without even trying them. In that case, it was a tv show, and they said that they had never watched it, knew nothing about it, but thought it was a silly and shallow show.

I remember once I did not want to go and see Avatar, because I thought it was about blue people. I assumed it was going to be stupid. I absolutely loved it, and I was so glad I saw it on the big screen in 3d. 🙂

Anyway, I guess that is my way of saying tell your truths, but never let them be assumptions. I certainly like what I have seen so far, and I do need some happy peppy in my life, so welcome to my feed reader.

As part of NaBloPoMo I try to comment on as many participating blogs as I can. I have a link up going at my place so my readers can find participating blogs which you are more than welcome to add your blog link to.

Looking forward to seeing your posts, and you’ll likely see me drop by again during November.

    Happy NaBloPoMo to you!
