Treating my small business, like a big business, Karen Michaels Chicksinger…what a novel idea! This week, I had 4 hours of no call, no shows or extremely late calls, (1 hour before). Frustrating…right now , I am sitting drinking coffee at home as my family went out to breakfast and I didn’t go because I had students coming. “sigh”

I admit that I am completely easy going. I am a working Mom and as a singer, sometimes, last minute gigs will come up. Cross fingers, I have a possible one next Saturday. That being said, I don’t do contracts, I don’t do pre-pay and if you text me within 2 hours, I really don’t get bugged. I know how busy, crazy life can be! But, really….NO CALL?! 1 hour?! I think it’s time for a change.
I have started to write out what next year will bring. I believe in that. And, my studio and the work I love is a big part of that! Change, it is a com in’! Look out! Please don’t mistake my nice-ness for meekness. Enough said…I’m going to turn grapes into wine by using this precious time to practice. And, yes, btw, some of you I know personally have asked if I will post something of me playing the piano and I just might do that on day 30!
Today, I am grateful for the strength to keep going and keep moving forward and to keep believing. God has touched my shoulder, yet again, today.
